REPORT ON THE INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC ONLINE CONFERENCE
Dear readers of our site, we suggest you the Report on the International Scientific Online Conference “Feat of Medical Workers during the Great Patriotic War” dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
On May 21, 2020, on the basis of the Kazakhstan-Russian Medical University, an international online scientific conference was held on the theme “The feat of medical workers during the Great Patriotic War”, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
Welcoming speeches were delivered by Nurlan Temirbekovich Jainakbaev, Rector of the Kazakh-Russian Medical University, MD, professor, Vice-President of the Academy of Sciences of Clinical and Fundamental Medicine of the Republic of Kazakhstan, diplomat of The Academic Union Oxford, Almaty, the Republic of Kazakhstan; Pereverzeva Irina Vladimirovna, Consul of the General Consulate of the Russian Federation in Almaty, Ph.D., Associate Professor; Paltsev Alexander Ivanovich, MD, professor, Honored Doctor of the RSFSR, academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.
During the conference 51 reports were heard. The conference was attended by over 100 people from 7 countries: Russia, Belarus, Israel, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan. More than 7,500 users watched the online broadcast on the website and on the official Youtube channel of the Kazakhstan-Russian Medical University NUO.
Conference participants reacted with trepidation and respect to the work on the reports, covering almost all aspects of the work of medical workers during the Great Patriotic War. The report of the Israeli colleagues “Jewish doctors in the Second World War” did not leave indifferent any listener. Speakers from St. Petersburg, Russia, presented reports on the feat of doctors of the besieged Leningrad. During the conference, the names of Manshuk Mametova, Razia Iskakova, Khalida Mamanova and other glorious heroes of the Great Patriotic War sounded.
Topics of speeches covered the work of doctors and at the front – “Fates related to the war” (Grodno State Medical University); “Organization of medical service of partisan detachments” (Vitebsk State Medical University) and in the rear – “Contribution of medical scientists of Uzbekistan to the victory of World War II” (Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sino, Bukhara); “Children’s Health Protection in Kyrgyzstan during the Great Patriotic War” (Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B.N. Yeltsin); “The contribution of Tajik doctors in the treatment of the wounded and sick during the Great Patriotic War” (Izhevsk State Medical Academy); “About the therapeutic activities of evacuation hospital No. 995 during the Great Patriotic War” (Saratov State Medical University named after V.I.
Speakers from West Kazakhstan Medical University named after M. Ospanov, Omsk State Medical University, Novosibirsk State Medical University, Smolensk State Medical University, Kazakh State Medical University named after S.Zh. Asfendiyarov talked about the dedicated work of employees of their universities during the Great Patriotic War.
The moderators of the first Section “The feat of medical workers during the Great Patriotic War” were Alexander Paltsev, MD, professor, Honored Doctor of the RSFSR, academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, and Alexander Blazer, director of the “Carmel” Training and Clinical Center in Haifa, Israel. During the broadcast, 16 reports were heard.
The second Section, “Organization of Military and Civil Health during the Great Patriotic War,” was headed by Botabekova Tursunkul Kopzhasarovna, MD, professor, academician of the Academy of Sciences of Clinical and Fundamental Medicine of the Republic of Kazakhstan, head of the ophthalmology course of the Department of Postgraduate Continuing Education of the Non-profit Organization “Kazakhstan- Russian Medical University ”, Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan, and Irina Barsukova, MD, Associate Professor, State Budgetary Institution“ St. Petersburg Research Institute of Ambulance named after I.I. Dzhanelidze ”, St. Petersburg, Russian Federation. 15 speakers from various countries participating in the conference spoke.
For the organizers and participants of the conference especially important became the work of the third Section, “The Feat of Medical Workers during the Great Patriotic War: Dialogue of Generations”, which was brilliantly conducted by Pavel Chechulov, MD, Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at the St. Petersburg Research Institute I. Dzhanelidze Institute ”, St. Petersburg, Russian Federation, and Belova Tatyana Anatolyevna, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy and Social Sciences and Humanities, Omsk State Medical University, Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Omsk, Russian Federation.
The participation of only young scientists, students and students in this section confirmed the importance of continuity of generations, preservation of the history and memory of the deeds of our compatriots. Twenty reports were heard, each of which became a manifestation of the civic duty of the younger generation to the memory of peers who defended the world from fascism.
Within the framework of Section 3, a Competition of reports by young scientists was held. The competitive commission chaired by Belova Tatyana Anatolyevna included:
- Inna Blazer – Deputy Director for Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations, Carmel Training and Clinical Center, Haifa, Israel;
- Karasaev Gabit Ermekbaevich, lieutenant colonel of the medical reserve service, lecturer of the military department of the NAO “West Kazakhstan Medical University named after M. Ospanov”, Aktobe, the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- Semenova Svetlana Georgievna, Assistant of the Department of Infectious Diseases, EE “Grodno State Medical University”, Belarus;
- Orakbay Lyazat Zhadigerovna – MD, acting Head of the Department of Public Health with a course in hygiene and epidemiology, Kazakhstan-Russian Medical University.
According to the results of the competition, the first place was awarded for the report “The contribution of medical scientists of Uzbekistan to the victory of the Great Patriotic War” – Azuna Dzhunaidova, Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sino, Bukhara, Republic of Uzbekistan.
The second place was awarded to 2 reports:
- “Organization of military and civil health care during the Great Patriotic War” – Mamadaliev Mamur, FSBEI HE “Izhevsk State Medical Academy”, Izhevsk, Russian Federation;
- “Contribution of scientists from the Smolensk State Medical Institute to victory during the Great Patriotic War” – Ivan Tuchkov, EV Solodovnikova, FBGUO VO Smolensk State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Smolensk, Russian Federation.
Third place:
- “Detachment 731” – criminal methods of conducting bacteriological warfare”- Iskanderova Rinata, Izhevsk State Medical Academy of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Izhevsk, Russian Federation;
- “Contribution of Academician A.N. Syzganova in the development of the surgical service in Kazakhstan during the Great Patriotic War”- Victor Belyuchenko, NUO“ Kazakhstan-Russian Medical University ”, Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan.
The competition commission highlighted several speeches for the content and presentation of the material:
- “Activities of teachers and students of the Smolensk State Medical Institute during the Great Patriotic War” – Alexandra Khudovekova, E. Shabaev I. FBGUO VO Smolensk State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Smolensk, Russian Federation;
- “Scientific activity in the evacuation hospitals of Dagestan” – Diana Demirova, Federal State Budgetary Educational Establishment of Higher Education Dagestan State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Makhachkala, Russian Federation;
- “Military doctors who saved millions of human lives” – Zhaksybaeva Moldir, Non-profit educational institution “Kazakhstan-Russian Medical University”, Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan.
Within the framework of the conference, a competition was also held for the best video clip dedicated to the feat of medical workers during the Great Patriotic War, created by students and employees of medical schools participating in the Conference (videos are available at https://krmu.edu.kz/podvig-meditsinskih-rabotnikov-v-velikoj-otechestvennoj-vojne/). According to the results of online voting, the following were recognized as the best:
The largest number of votes (709) was collected by the video created by the staff of the Department of Pediatric Sciences with a course of childhood infectious diseases of the Kazakh-Russian Medical University, Almaty, the Republic of Kazakhstan, “FEAT OF MANSHUK MAMETOVA IN THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR” – clip authors – Meriken N. S., assistant, Baidauletova Zh.G., intern doctor, head – MD, professor Nugmanova Aigul Maratovna, head of the department of pediatric specialties with a course of childhood infectious diseases, NEO “Kazakhstan-Russian Medical University”, Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan. This video was awarded the 1st place.
The second place, collecting 555 votes, received the documentary film “AUTOBIOGRAPHY” – about the hero of the Battle of Stalingrad, MD, professor Seitov Z.S., now a long-standing honorary professor at the Kazakh-Russian Medical University. The second place (555 votes) was also awarded to the video “ORGANIZATION OF MEDICAL CARE DURING THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR”, created by students of KazNMU named after S. Asfendiyarova, Titenaeva Zhansaya, under the direction of the assistant to the department 1 of the GP Isaeva Korlan Kudaibergenkyzy, Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan
The third place, collecting 467 votes, deservedly received the film “LONG WAY OF A GIRL FROM KAZAKHSTAN”, created by residents of the Department of General Medical Practice, NUO “Kazakhstan-Russian Medical University”, Kenesbay Aidan, and Salem Yestai, under the leadership of MD, Professor Ligai Zoya Nikolaevna, Head of the Department of General Medical Practice, NEO “Kazakhstan-Russian Medical University”, Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan.
The NEO “Kazakhstan-Russian Medical University” thanks all the conference participants for their sincere interest in the theme of the Great Patriotic War and the feat of our fellow doctors, nurses and orderlies in achieving Victory. Our countries have one story, the memory of which must be passed down from generation to generation. The memory of the heroism of doctors, their names will never be forgotten.
