History of the Department
The Department of pediatric disciplines with the course of children’s infectious diseases of Kazakh-Russian Medical University was organized in 1997. The first Chapter. the Department was appointed Professor Kanatbayeva A. B., chief children’s neurologist of MOH, who worked in office from 1997 to 2007. All employees of the Department were hourly employees. From 2007 to 2009, the Department was headed by Dr. abeuova B. A., the first full-time employee. From 2009 to 2010, the head of the Department.the Department was Prof. Isayeva R. B., from 2011 to the present time head of the Department of MD Nugmanova A. M. Since the day of the foundation , the Department has experienced teachers who have a long experience of teaching in med.University: Prof. Dikanbayeva S. A., Assoc. Ismailova D. B., Assoc. Chabdarov S. K., Assoc. Nugmanova A. M. Assoc. Nurbekova A. A., Assoc. Dosym S. M., Assoc. Abullaev S. H., Assoc. Chingaeva G. N., ACC.Ph. D. Sagidullina L. S., at the Department at different times worked professors Ogai E. A., Zhetpisbaev G. A. the Number of employees at the Department increased from 6 people to 25, due to the increase in the teaching load (of which 3 full-time employees, the rest hourly).
Purpose, tasks, main activities of the Department
The goal is to implement the educational process in the medical University in the following disciplines: “Children’s diseases”, “Children’s infections”, “Outpatient Pediatrics” for students of 2,3,4,5 courses of General medical, pediatric, dental faculties and students of 2,3 courses of the medical College in the specialties “paramedic GP”, “Paramedic”.
TASKS:
- train students and students to acquire knowledge and skills in the field of Pediatrics;
- develop students ‘ clinical thinking;
- develop effective communication skills based on the principles of medical ethics and understanding the role and responsibility of the doctor in society;
- develop skills for solving patient problems and making decisions based on the principles of evidence-based medicine and effective interaction with other healthcare professionals.
- The clinical bases of the Department are: CDCH “Aksay”, №1, №3, №22, №17, and also used LPU-CCH №8, CDCH №2, which employ hourly workers.
Educational work of the Department:
The Department trained students 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 courses of medical, medical, pediatric, dental, Oriental medical faculties, medical interns GPS, doctors — interns, pediatricians, students of 2-3 courses of medical College on a speciality “General practice Paramedic”, “Paramedic” in the disciplines “Propaedeutics of children’s diseases” with a course “Healthy child”, “Childhood diseases”, “pediatric infections”, “Outpatient Pediatrics”.
Teachers of the Department were engaged with residents in the specialties “Cardiology”, “Allergology” in related disciplines, students of the specialty “Dermatovenerology”.
Professional practice in children’s diseases and infections, outpatient Pediatrics are students, 3, 4, 5 courses of General medical, pediatric faculties and nursing, pre-graduate medical. nursing practice — 3rd year students med. college’s.
The NSC Department has been functioning since 2007. during the meetings of the circle, students make scientific reports and presentations using multimedia equipment on the diagnosis, clinic, and treatment of childhood diseases. To prepare for reports, students supervise thematic patients, analyze archival medical histories, and work with literature in the library and on the Internet.
At the meetings of the circle, clinical examinations of patients, demonstration of sick children with rare diseases, as well as the latest equipment for hemodialysis performed for patients with CKD are held.
Every year, 7-10 students of the 3rd and 4th courses of the General medical faculty, 3, 4, 5, and 6 courses of the pediatric faculty work at the NSC. The meeting of the circle is held 1 time in 2 months on the basis of “Aksay”.
Every year, members of the scientific circle of the Department of children’s diseases make presentations at intra-University student conferences and take prizes.
In 2008-2009, the prize-winning place was taken by a student OF 302A ped. Professor baymukhanov Mansur with the report “Modern views on the etiology and treatment of acute leukemia in children”, scientific Director of the Assoc. Chabdarov S. K.
In 2009-2010, one of the prize places was taken by a student OF 502a GM faculty Ospanov Adalat a report on “Substitution treatment of chronic kidney disease in children”, supervisor ass. Ph. D. Nugmanova, A. M.
In 2010-2011, the first place was taken by a student OF 502a ped. faculty Bayadilova Ainur with the report “Clinical characteristics of neonates born from mothers with eclampsia”, supervisor prof A. T. Musaev, second place went to a student 301A of the General medicine faculty Samigullina Gulbanu report “urinary tract Infections in children”, supervisor Assoc. Nugmanova A. M.
MEDICAL WORK OF THE DEPARTMENT
- Employees of the Department provide great medical and diagnostic assistance to the children’s population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, basic medical pediatric institutions in Almaty.
- supervise patients;
- consult patients;
- conduct clinical rounds and analyses for students, interns, and doctors of basic clinics;
- they organize national conferences and international seminars on Nephrology (prof. Kanatbayeva A. B., prof. Dikanbayeva S. A., MD. Nugmanova A.M.);
- organize a “master class” for neurologists;
- they give lectures and conduct practical classes at the FPC.
Scientific activity of the Department
The scientific work of the Department of children’s diseases is the study of actual problems of children’s Nephrology. Since the organization of the Department there were defended 6 doctoral theses (supervisors: Professor Kanatbayeva A. B., Professor dikanbaeva S. A.) employees of the Department over the past 5 years, published over 77 publications produced 12 guidelines, written 3 monographs.
Employees of the Department took part in the work of city, national and international conferences and symposiums.
Employees of the Department conducted screening studies of the population of Almaty to identify chronic kidney diseases.
Prof. Kanatbayeva A. B., MD. Abeuova B. A., MD. Nugmanova A. M., Assoc. Ismayilova D. B. and other employees have patents, pre-patents, and research proposals based on the results of their research activities.
