History
The Department of psychiatry and narcology was established in 1999. during its existence, the Department has published about 30 textbooks and monographs.
Our students take part in the study and development of methods for improving human mental health and improving the quality of medical services in the field of psychiatry-narcology-psychotherapy. The educational concept of the Department is based on teaching international standards in the diagnosis, management tactics and therapy of mental and behavioral disorders based on the socio-cultural foundations of the Kazakh society and humanistic traditions of domestic psychiatry, teaching skills in the biopsychosocial model of psychiatric care. The main task is to create a psychological and social environment in which seeking help from a psychiatrist will not be considered a “stigma” or “stigma”in society. Strengthening outpatient admissions, reducing the number of bed days in the departments, returning the patient to the social environment as soon as possible and adapting to it, and constantly working to create a culture of attitude to people suffering from mental disorders is a strategic task of the Department. Psychotherapeutic types of cognition and improvement cover different approaches.
THE CONCEPTUAL FOUNDATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT’S EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS CAN BE DEFINED BY THE FOLLOWING TASKS:
- Teaching international standards in the diagnosis, management and therapy of mental and behavioral disorders based on the best socio-cultural foundations of Kazakhstan society and humanistic traditions of domestic psychiatry;
- Integration in continuing education of specialists in psychiatry, psychotherapy and clinical psychology for their effective interaction;
- Training in working skills in a biopsychosocial model to assist users of psychiatric and psychological services;
- Development of international standards in the diagnosis and treatment of mental and behavioral disorders;
- Ethics in psychiatry, problems of stigmatization, discrimination in society and personal individual approach to persons suffering from a mental disorder;
- Introduction of psychiatric knowledge into General clinical medicine, social services practice, and pedagogy through special educational programs
- Assistance in organizing self-support groups for patients and their relatives and psychosocial rehabilitation for people with mental disorders and impaired social role functions due to severe disabling diseases;
- Individual approach in clinical internship and residency programs.
- Training in research skills based on evidence-based medicine for training and self-training of students, interns and residents;
- Participation of students in research work, publication of articles, participation in international conferences.

- Eshimbetova Saida Zakirovna – doctor of medical Sciences, Professor, head. Department of psychiatry, narcology and neurology of the Kazakh-Russian medical University. Psychiatrist-narcologist-psychotherapist of the highest category.
In 1991, she defended her thesis for the degree of candidate of medical Sciences: Clinical and social aspects of prevention of “dangerous actions of patients with paroxysmal-progridient schizophrenia” at the research Institute of General and forensic psychiatry.In,P, Serbian (Moscow). In 2004, she Defended her thesis for the degree of doctor of medical Sciences: “Psychopathological, psychological and therapeutic aspects of virgogamy” at the Tashkent Institute of advanced training of doctors under the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
From 1991 to 2017, she was continuously engaged in scientific and pedagogical activities at the Department of psychiatry and psychotherapy of the Tashkent Institute of advanced medical training. From 1991 to 200 years for the posts of assistant 2000-2006 – associate Professor, with 2006-2017 he is a Professor in the Department of psychiatry and psychotherapy of the Tashkent Institute of improvement of doctors Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Since September 2017, he has been the head of the Department of psychiatry, narcology and neurology of the Kazakh-Russian medical University.
Clinical experience-33 years. Scientific and pedagogical – 30 years.
Author of 120 publications, including 3 monographs, 12 guidelines, 4 manuals and training manuals for psychiatrists.

SCIENTIFIC AND INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITIES
To train high-level specialists, employees and residents of the Department conduct a lot of scientific and practical work. From 2010 to 2013, the Department participated in the “Development and scientific justification of a socially oriented model of primary health care in the health care system of the Republic of Kazakhstan”. Employees of the Department took part in the “Depressive States in narcological disorders” (2016). employees And residents of the Department created a working group for servicing the center for psychological assistance to parents of children with disabilities, operating from 2015 to the present.
The Department has a Scientific club “School of a young psychiatrist”, which is held weekly on Saturdays to discuss topical issues of psychiatry, narcology, psychotherapy, forensic psychiatry, sexopathology in the form of lecture presentations, master classes, seminars with a demonstration of a standardized patient.
The scientific direction of the Department is: – Prevention of mental and behavioral disorders of children, adolescents and young people of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
