HISTORY OF DEVELOPMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF THERAPEUTIC AND CHILDREN’S DENTISTRY
In September 2018, the Department of Dentistry was reorganized into 2 structural divisions: the Department of Therapeutic and Pediatric Dentistry, the Department of Surgical and Orthopedic Dentistry.
The head of the department was elected – Iskakova Maryam Kozbaevna, who from 1988 to 1990 studied at the clinical residency of the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry of KazNMU, worked as an assistant at the ASIUV MH RK, from 1996 to 2018 she worked at KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarova, has gone from assistant to professor of the department. In 2018, she joined the Kazakh-Russian Medical University: Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry and Head of the Department of Therapeutic and Pediatric Dentistry.
In 2006 received an academic title: Associate Professor.
Has the highest medical category. She is the author of 118 publications, the author of 5 textbooks, and has repeatedly spoken at international scientific conferences. Has copyright patents for inventions. She was the head of scientific projects, under her guidance 6 master’s theses were defended.
In 2015, a Gold Medal was awarded by the Kazakhstan Dental Association for its contribution to the development of the dental service of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
According to the results of the Republican Competition of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2017, she received the title of “Best Lecturer in the University of Kazakhstan 2016”
The Department of Therapeutic and Pediatric Dentistry has 17 full-time teachers, including 3 candidates of medical sciences, M. Iskakova – “Associate Professor”, (2006); 7 part-time doctors from practical healthcare. Assistants of the department: Elzhanova Z.N., Kuvatbaeva U.A., Bainazarova N.T., Ilyasova E.K. have master’s degrees.
At the Department of Therapeutic and Pediatric Dentistry, 3 scientific projects are being carried out on the prevention and treatment of major dental diseases. The Vita Dent Science Club was organized and operates, which included 35 students of 1,3,4,5,6 courses.
Much attention is paid to issues of educational work: conferences, round tables, and a number of events at the university level are planned.
The Department of Therapeutic and Pediatric Dentistry is located at: st. Torekulova, 71. The department’s classroom fund: 8 study rooms, a phantom room, a treatment room with dental units, equipped with modern diagnostic equipment, a laser physiotherapy device.
